Marathon Digital Holdings, Inc. (NasdaqCM:MARA) has published unaudited bitcoin (BTC) production and miner installation updates for August 2021. According to the press release, the company produced 469.6 new minted bitcoins during the month – bringing its total holdings to about 6,695 bitcoin, and received 21,584 top-tier ASIC miners from Bitmain. Marathon CEO Fred Thiel said:

 

“During August, the total network’s hash rate increased more than 15%, and during that same time, we increased our bitcoin production by 6% month-over-month to 469.6 BTC. Despite a minor technical issue at the Hardin power plant, which caused our miners to be offline for approximately two days during the month and which has since been remediated, we still averaged 15.1 BTC per day and increased our total bitcoin holdings to approximately 6,695 BTC. We also made substantial progress with our hosting partner, Compute North, preparing new locations to receive the large number of previously purchased miners we expect to ship from Bitmain over the coming months. We continue to expect shipments as scheduled, but we understand that there is the potential for global logistics issues to impact these schedules. Based on the most up-to-date information, we believe we remain well positioned to scale our hash rate from its current level of 2.3 EH/s to 13.3 EH/s by mid next year.”

 

Argo Blockchain (OTC:ARBKF) has reported an operational update for the month of August. Highlights include the mining of 206 Bitcoin or Bitcoin Equivalent, and mining revenue of $9.43 million (up from $7.75 million in July). CEO and Interim Chairman of Argo, Peter Wall, said:

 

"I am pleased that we have been able to deliver these results at an improved margin this month and continue to deliver value to our shareholders. We are also delighted to have released our Climate Strategy and remain committed in our efforts to enact positive change within the crypto mining sector."

 

Future FinTech Group Inc. (NasdaqCM:FTFT) has signed an equity acquisition term sheet to acquire 51 percent of the equity of Shanghai Dianfa Internet Technology Co., Ltd. According to the press release, the aim of this acquisition is for Future FinTech to “enter the key supply chain finance business of small and medium sized enterprises ("SMEs") and the microfinance sector.” CEO Shanchun Huang explained:

 

"We estimate that there are millions of microbusinesses in China which represents a tremendous opportunity for digital management, lending and payment processing companies such as Dianfa Technology. Further, we anticipate that this potential acquisition will enhance our competitive advantages as well as create important synergies with our existing capabilities in supply chain finance."
