HIVE Blockchain Technologies Ltd. (NasdaqCM:HIVE) has announced an official name change to “HIVE Digital Technologies Ltd.” so as “to better represent the company's evolving focus on the revenue opportunities with our Nvidia Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) cards in Cloud compute technology, and its mission to drive advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications such as ChatGPT, to support the new Web3 ecosystem.” The company’s Executive Chairman, Frank Holmes, explained:

 

"ChatGPT is among the fastest-growing tech products of all time, and we think the underlying technology, large language models (LLMs), is proving to be highly disruptive having attracted 100 million users in only 2 months. The training and fine-tuning of these LLMs are powered by GPUs. We believe the demand from GPU computing with our Nvidia GPU cards has a potential for a high-margin business with annual revenues in the range over $100,000,000."

 

Argo Blockchain (NasdaqGS:ARBK) has posted an operational update for June 2023. Highlights include the mining of 139 Bitcoin (BTC) or Bitcoin Equivalents (4.6 BTC per day) – representing a decrease of 17 percent from the 5.6 BTC per day mined in the month prior, and a mining revenue of $3.84 million for the month. The press release indicates that Argo has also begun receiving and installing new BlockMiner machines at its Quebec facilities, which once fully deployed, are expected to increase the company's total hashrate capacity by 12 percent to about 2.8 EH/s.

(TSX:WNDR) has announced that it has closed its business combination transaction with Coinsquare Ltd. and CoinSmart Financial Inc., resulting in one of the largest registered crypto asset trading ecosystems in Canada offering “both retail and institutional crypto trading, staking products, B2B crypto payment processing and soon also sports betting and gaming.” WonderFi’s President and Interim-CEO, Dean Skurka, said:
