according to company founder and CEO Myles Bartholomew.
“Among the hundreds of millions of social
media users, actually more like billions, we construct highly authentic and
passionate communities for each of our brands,” he said.
“This acts as a democratization in the
market, taking out of the hands of the few ad agencies and giving it to
millions of users that do the marketing every day all day long. So now the
users get paid rather than the agencies.”
Bartholomew explained how the company’s
smart contract based cryptocurrency, the SponsorCoin, reflected user activity
in its pricing.
“This happens across all social media
outlets, and when the user authentically engages with the brand in
conversation, we score the nature of the engagement and pay the user with our
coin SponsorCoin,” he said. “We look at the most profitable types of engagement
for each brand and determine which users are going to have the most value
towards that brand. In turn this dynamically prices the SponsorCoin when
consumers go and purchase goods from that brand, each user’s SponsorCoin will
be priced differently by the brand depending on their perceived social media
capital.”
Part of the SponsorsOne technology involves
AI, which Bartholomew said is used “dynamically to price the currency at the
time of transaction between the brand and the consumer.”
“Our AI is used to determine those factors
and give a variable to the coin value,” he said.
Bartholomew said SponsorOne’s strategy is
to empower all users to make smaller brands more competitive, and that they
take more modest cuts to brand revenue than traditional channels.
“Our plan is to basically turn everybody
into an influencer, no matter how small or big you are. It levels the playing
field between small brands using our SponsorCloud platform, and the big brands
using traditional advertising channels,” he said. ”At SponsorsOne we take 20
percent of the revenue versus 75 percent that other distribution channels
take.”
Bartholomew likened SponsorsOne desired
effect on the market to what cryptocurrencies have done to financial services.
“Like Bitcoin is disrupting financial
banking, SponsorCoin is looking to disrupt big brands and the grip they have on
all the media channels,” he said.
