Coinbase Ventures, an investment arm of Coinbase (NasdaqGS:COIN), has led a seed funding round for Bitcoin (BTC)-enabling mobile-game platform Bling, according to a report from CoinDesk. The Bling platform comprises six games currently, and “as well as a software development kit (SDK) it will begin offering to other mobile game developers that includes a bitcoin rewards system, fraud detection and user value detection.” The bitcoin rewards system “uses Coinbase as a cash-out mechanism, and users must create a Coinbase wallet before they can earn any bitcoin rewards.”

 

HIVE Blockchain Technologies Ltd. (NasdaqGS:HVBT) has joined the NVIDIA (NasdaqGS:NVDA) Partner Network (NPN) Cloud Service Provider program and entered into purchase agreements for NVIDIA GPUs with a total contract value of more than $66 million. Frank Holmes, Executive Chairman of HIVE, said:

 

"HIVE has always had the ability to change course when required since being the first blockchain company to go public in 2017. Our investment in NVIDIA GPUs strengthens HIVE's to remain nimble and gives us the power to pivot in this ever changing and dynamic industry."

 

HIVE has also announced its long term high performance computing (HPC) strategy beyond Ethereum (ETH) 2.0. An excerpt from the press release reads:

 

High performance GPU cards are key to HIVE's long term strategy to build ‘HPC' High Performance Data Centers which are growing in demand globally, while in the short term to be a more efficient Ethereum miner and to increase our hash power to produce more virgin Ether and HODL these assets on our balance sheet.

 

Galaxy Digital Holdings Ltd. (TSX:GLXY), after having participated in the Bitcoin Mining Council's (BMC) first quarterly survey readout, has committed “to conducting business based on a strong sustainability framework that prioritizes responsible ESG practices.” The company’s representative on the BMC and Head of Mining, Amanda Fabiano, explained:

 

"I am excited to participate in the ongoing dialogue around Bitcoin's energy mix and witness how our industry has voluntarily come together to promote transparency and share critical information with the public.
